Sluggish engine, weak starter on a GM? I solved the issue on my 1996 2.2 S10 using a starter motor from a 2014 2.4 model. It fit perfectly and, because it uses a planetary gear reduction system, it has much more cranking power. Naturally, everything else (battery, grounds...) needs to be inspected, but if you own an older GM, you know exactly what slow-cranking startup I'm talking about.
