About the book
In 2021, Paulo removed the Endura 1.0 8v engine from his family's 1998 Ford Ka and did what many people say 'can't be done': a complete rebuild at home, with no prior experience, simple tools, plenty of research, and a willingness to learn. The adventure became a 27-episode series on the channel — and now it has become a book.
In the author's own words: more than a technical manual, it is 'a story of learning and overcoming challenges' — every mistake, success, and discovery while taking the engine apart, inspecting it, and rebuilding it from scratch. It shows that anyone can turn an ambitious project into a tangible result, in the spirit of the channel's motto: 'Do It Yourself, For Real!'.
What you'll find
- A step-by-step account of the rebuild — from teardown to first start;
- Real photos of the process, showing details you don't see in the videos;
- Practical tips and reflections for anyone who wants to learn mechanics hands-on;
- Behind the scenes: costs, tough decisions, and what Paulo would do differently.
Book + video series: use them together
The book and series complement each other. On the site, you'll find the complete series guide — the 12 rebuild stages, links to the exact moments in each video, the torque tables used, and the tools — plus the Ford Ka page with all videos about the car. The book includes what the videos don't show: the full story, still photos you can examine at your own pace, and reflections from someone who took on the challenge.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Kindle device to read it?
No. The Kindle app is free for phones (Android and iPhone), tablets, and computers—just download the app, sign in to your Amazon account, and the book will appear in your library.
Is this a technical manual with specifications?
No—the title 'Non-Technical Manual' is intentional. It is the true story of the project, with photos and practical tips. For Endura torque values, clearances, and specifications, use the series guide on the site, which collects the values mentioned in the videos.
Is it useful if I own another car?
Yes. The project centers on the Endura 1.0 8v from a Ford Ka, but the steps in an engine rebuild—teardown, measurement, block and cylinder-head machining, and assembly—are similar for any engine. The value of the book is in the process, not just the model.
Is it included in Kindle Unlimited?
Yes—Kindle Unlimited subscribers can read it at no extra cost.
